Why Choose a Bronze Plaque?

Bronze is the most popular metal to use for casting plaques

If you are looking for a durable, weather-resistant and versatile material, bronze is one of your best options. Bronze has a greater resistance to corrosion than iron or steel.

Because an actual casting process is used, bronze plaques can capture features and details that other manufacturing methods cannot. In addition, its naturally warm glow with many available finishes offers choices that are quite aesthetically pleasing and require minimal maintenance.

Bronze plaques can be found on monuments, bridges, benches and exterior walls of buildings. Also as markers in cemeteries, mausoleums, golf courses, memory/serenity gardens, on gravestones and urns for burial or cremation.

Due to its number of attractive characteristics, bronze is the perfect material to create plaques that will last a lifetime or longer.

Our Process

How Our Sand Cast Bronze Plaques

Are Made

At Bronze Plaques By Design, we work to ensure our fabrication process produces the best quality plaques and awards for each unique request. Our team of professionals work closely together to ensure that precision and expertise are evident at every step of the process.

Step 1
Design & Mould

The design of the plaque is formed using materials such as photopolymer resins, woods and plastics. A sand and epoxy mixture is then poured around the design to form the mould.

Step 2
Bronze Casting

Using extensive protection to ensure the workers are safe, molten bronze is then poured into the mould, with the rough bronze plaque being removed once the metal has cooled completely.

Step 3
Finishing & Painting

The plaque is then cut, hand-cleaned and sanded to match the original design. Once the perfect shape and finish have been achieved, the plaque is finally painted and detailed.

Why Cast in Bronze?

Choosing bronze as the material for your plaque affords many benefits

Because bronze is a ductile metal, it is easy to mould into different shapes.  Virtually any shape that can be extruded can be cast.  Using bronze you can eliminate unnecessary machining and lower scrap loss, resulting in significant cost savings.

Durability and strength

Bronze plaques are very strong, being stronger than any common metal alloy. The only exception to this is stainless steel, but bronze is more versatile.

Classic and traditional look

Bronze plaques have been a part of history for centuries.  Over that time exceptional events, dates and names that cross the borders of time have been cast or engraved in bronze.

“Everything went very well here for Grandma’s final resting place.  We feel that she would approve of her memorial stone and plaque… simplicity and family were very important to her.  Attached is a snap, cement still wet and the wire still in place which we used to place the plaque appropriately. Everyone is standing on Grampa’s grave, so you can’t really see the finished result there (plaque under the foot of girl in pink shirt), either, but they now look quite comfortable up there on their ridge. Thanks for your help with this. Cheers, The Harringtons”
